BumGenius Elemental AIO Review and $15 GC Giveaway to Thanks Mama!!

The lovely folks over at Thanks Mama were kind enough to send me a BumGenius Elemental Organic One-Size all in one diaper in Moonbeam to review!!!

This is what I received (isn't it beautiful)?

This is the diaper on the smallest setting:
Medium setting:
Largest setting:
The inside of this diaper is 100% organic cotton, and let me tell you, it is soooo soft! I love the fact that the fabric against my boys' skin is 100% organic!! Yay!
This is an all in one diaper, so there is no stuffing, folding or covering involved, you simply use it as is! The extra absorbent layers are simply sewn into the diaper, as seen here:

And here...
Being this diaper is an all in one, it does take a bit longer to dry compared to regular pocket diapers, but I don't mind that at all! I tested this diaper's absorbency by putting it on my boys at nap time, no leaks! This diaper is awesome, and is the simplest diaper to use! I really love it and think I have found yet another new favorite! It is my go to diaper for nap time (especially for my 3 yo heavy wetter)! I did not try this diaper at night, since I have discovered the wonderful world of wool! Wool is the only thing I use on both boys at night now!

Let me tell you a bit about Thanks Mama! "Thanks Mama is a Mother owned and operated company based out of Boston Massachusetts. Thanks Mama opened its doors in January 2003. Thanks Mama offers a wide variety of cloth diapers, diaper covers, potty training pants and accessories to meet all of your cloth diapering needs. Thanks Mama also feature high quality toys from PlanToys, Melissa and Doug, Lamaze, and Kushies as well as a great selection of bibs, baby carriers, nursing products for mom and baby care."

*info taken from the Thanks Mama website, about us page*

This is what the BG Elemental AIO looks like on my 1 year old:

I also used this diaper on my 3 yo (largest setting):

You can purchase this diaper from Thanks Mama for only $24.95! While you are there, you may find several other items you need, um I mean items that you would like to purchase. Not only does Thanks Mama carry a wide variety of cloth diapers, but they also carry baby toys, baby carriers, bedding and great items for mom too! Grovia AIO review and GIVEAWAY sponsored by Madison Organics!!

I have just been so blessed to have the support I do from fantastic companies, like Madison Organics! Madison Organics generously sent me a GroVia AIO cloth diaper in vanilla for review! This is what I received: The inside of the diaper: The absorbent, organic cotton inner (which easily snaps into place for added absorbency: This is a one size diaper that will fit a baby from 10-35+lbs! So if your baby weighs less than 10 lbs at birth (for your sake, I hope s/he does) ;) then you would not be able to use this diaper until s/he reaches 10 lbs! But don't worry, GroVia also has a AIO newborn size designed to fit babies weighing 5-12+lbs!! This is a great diaper. I love the fact that it has snaps *duh* and that the inner is made of organic cotton too! I love that it is a really trim diaper but also super absorbent! This is what this diaper looked like on my 3 yo son: I used this diaper on both boys (my 15 month old would not sit still for a pic) and it fit both of them really well. We used it for naptime and have not experienced any leaks so far. I don't use AIO's or pocket diapers for night time anymore, after discovering the Wonderful World of Wool... so I have not tested this diaper out at night. I am sure it would be fine for my 15 month old, but I'm just not sure anything (besides a fitted diaper and wool cover) can hold in the amount of wetness my 3 yo expells at night!! Want to purchase this diaper? You can buy it at Madison Organics for $21.95 *Madison Organics also has free shipping on orders over $50.00, $5.00 shipping on orders under $50.00 and, they also offer a 15% Military Discount!!! Or, you can win one here! Madison Organics has graciously offered one LWML reader a chance to win this GroVia AIO (snaps, in "Vanilla" the same diaper you see pictured above)! Who's excited?? *Please leave your e-mail address in each comment so I have a way to contact you if you win*

The Wonderful World of Wool... Aristocrats wool cover review Sponsored by Circle Me, and a $25 GC GIVEAWAY

So I have been having a wonderful woolly relationship with my diapers! I recently blogged about my problems finding a night time diaper that works, and my recent discovery of fitted diapers and wool covers!!

Now, I am happy to share with you a review of an amazing wool cover from
Circle Me! Vanessa from Circle Me sent me an Aristocrats wool cover for review! (This was the first wool cover I have ever come in contact with, and it was love at first sight)!!

    This is what I received:

I then lanolized the cover. This is a
great blog post detailing the steps to lanolizing your woolies!!
I have read that lanolizing covers inside out is more beneficial, as the inside of the cover (the part that comes in contact with the urine) is what really needs to be lanolized.
This process only needs to be completed with a new cover, and then every two weeks or so (depending on frequency of use, or if the cover gets soiled)!
Once the cover has been soaked, you should gently squeeze the excess moisture out, and you can also roll the cover in a clean dry towel, but be careful not to wring or twist the wool!!
Another really great step-by-step instructions for caring for wool, can be found
    HERE!!
I have been using this Aristocrats wool cover at night over a
Sustainablebabyish (Sloomb) fitted diaper for my 3 yo heavy wetter for 2 weeks now, and he has been waking up dry every morning *SUCESS** :)
This is the Sustainablebabyish/Sloomb fitted that I use under the wool cover (it's a size large):
This is what the wool cover looks like over the fitted diaper:

Let me tell you a little bit more about the company Circle Me:

"Circle ME is a local business in Lincoln, Nebraska, but hopes to become a resource for families across the country. Formed by Bo and Jennifer Bryson, a husband and wife team, their vision was to inspire families to be connected in a more meaningful way through offering services and products that encouraged a natural family lifestyle. Cloth diapers, baby wraps and slings, diaper bags, natural toys and a variety of eco-friendly, chemical-free bath and body products are just the surface of what circle ME hopes to offer. We also offer free outreach classes such as Cloth Diapering 101, Baby Wearing 101, Natural Family Planning, Pro-Active Parenting, and many more!

During her pregnancy, Jennifer and Bo realized that many couples felt disconnected and uneducated about pregnancy, birth and parenting. They believe that the family, traditional or non, is the most important and influential unit in our world. Jennifer’s heart is that moms would be empowered to profoundly love their husbands and children, while at the same time maintaining their identity. Bo’s heart is for the fathers, that they would realize from the time of conception they can be proactive about their fathering. With these aspirations guiding the direction of circle ME, Jennifer, Bo and their staff are committed to helping families nurture each other and their environment!"
*info taken from the Circle Me website*
Circle Me is a brick and mortar store and is not yet capable of on-line ordering. However, you can click
here to see a list of their vendors and some of the products they carry! *though I did not see the wool covers listed on that site, but I know they do carry the following wool products: Loveybums, Sleepy Sheep, Wooly Bottoms, and of course, Aristocrats* You can obtain a full list of the products they sell by calling the store at (402-435-6767).
I sure do love my Aristocrats wool cover and I think you will too!
You can purchase this cover from Circle Me (orders must be phoned in #402-435-6767) for $26.00!
Or, you can enter to win a $25.00 gift certificate that can be used towards the purchase of any item that

    Boba Carrier Review!!!

How many of you use some sort of a baby carrier? I certainly do! I was recently sent an organic Boba Carrier in Pine! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! Before I get into the many reasons I love my new Boba, lets talk about the benefits of baby wearing! Dr. Sears has a great section on his website "Ask Dr. Sears" that specifically details Babywearing, and its many benefits. I suggest you go make yourself a nice cuppa tea or pour yourself a hot cup of coffee (during nap-time of course) and read this article! According to Dr. Sears, the baby that is worn, cries less, learns more, is more organized, gets 'humanized' earlier, and is smarter!! I know we all want to raise, healthy, happy smart littles right? He also has a great section called "Reasons Babywearing Reduces SIDS" *sudden infant death syndrome* I also suggest you read this article too! If you need to, you can get up and make yourself another cuppa tea!!

This review is not about Dr. Sears (though I would jump at a chance to interview him and pick his brain)!! Its about the awesomeness of my Boba carrier! I have used my Ergo Baby carrier from the day I received it for a review. I love my Ergo, don't get me wrong, but I think the Boba carrier is my new favorite, and this is why: The Boba Carrier is a soft structured carrier intended for children 15-45 lbs. The carrier itself is very light and only weighs 1.8 lbs. The Boba has a few extra inches of height to keep the carrier's (you) center of gravity closer to your body and support your child's back! The Boba carrier also has foot straps, which are intended to give the child a healthy sitting position!

Here are the dimensions and product description of the Boba carrier *taken from the Boba website*

    PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

    •accommodates children 15-45 lbs / 7-20 kg

    •one size fits most adults

    •front and back carry

Boba Organic collection made with GOTS and OE100 certified 100% organic cotton and organic Texas cotton lining

Boba Classic collection made with 100% natural brushed cotton

    •Instructions included

•high density waist and shoulder strap foam

•removable foot straps for extra leg/hip support

•high back for better overall support

    •removable hood PRODUCT MEASUREMENTS

body 13 inches wide and 16 inches tall

•19 inch shoulder straps that extend an additional 19 inches

•28 inch waist belt that extends to 56 inches

    •5 inch waist belt

•weight of the carrier: 1.8 lbs

Here are some pics of the Boba I received: Here are some pictures of my boys in the Boba (really wanted to take these outside but the weather has been pretty wet here)!!! Here is my 3 year old (33+ lbs.): Rear view (notice the position of his feet, and the frog-like position) Here is my 15 month old (19+lbs.): View from the front: The main difference *in my opinion* between the Ergo and Boba is the fact that with the Ergo, you can carry your infant from birth to 40 lbs (with infant insert) and with the Boba, your child has to be 15 lbs in order to be carried! Also, the Ergo does not have foot straps like the Boba does. I love both carriers and love to be able to have my littles so snuggly close when we're out and about! You can purchase a beautiful Boba Carrier directly from their website! The organic carriers cost $128.00 and the classic carriers are only $100.00! You can also find Boba carriers on Amazon, I found both the organic and the classic... but they were only $1.00 cheaper than on the Boba website, but Amazon has free shipping and Boba charges $5.99! If you purchase this carrier through the Boba website, you will receive a 60 days no questions asked return policy! Which is always nice! If you have a baby carrier, Boba, Ergo... whatever, feel free to comment on this post and explain your favorite carrier. Why do you like to use a baby carrier? If you don't have a carrier, please feel free to post questions so that us baby carrying mama's can answer! Thanks for reading and happy shopping!

Maxwell Designs Wet bag review and GIVEAWAY from Toots n Tots!!

As you know, I have two boys in cloth diapers (though we are working on potty training Aaron, it has proven to be a long-process), so for the most part he is still wearing cloth! Two kids in cloth=a whole lot of dirty dipes :( So, one thing I really need (besides lots of laundry detergent) are wet bags. Now, I have 4 wet bags (2 of which I've had for over 2 years) and 1 I will be reviewing and including in Blog Bash 2011... and another wet bag by Maxwell Designs! Maggie, over at Toots n Tots generously sent me her small wet bag in "Hoot." This is the package I received:

    This is what was inside:

Isn't it too stinkin' cute? I LOVE this wet bag. It is a small wet bag, and measures 12" long by 9 3/4" wide! This bag is perfect to keep in your diaper bag or car for when you are out and about and need to store a soiled cloth diaper. I also think its the perfect size to store your mama cloth!! This wet bag is made really well and I expect it to last me a long time! You can tell the quality of workmanship from the moment you touch it! While we are talking about wet bags, lets go ahead and name some other uses for wet bags! Wet bags (in my opinion) are not only for cloth diapering mama's but they are also great to take to the beach or pool to store your wet swimsuit or clothes in!

I keep my bag in the diaper bag in the car. In my diaper bag (because I know you all want to know) I have an extra set of clothes for the boys, some disposable wipes, some snacks, a few cloth diapers and my Maxwell Designs wet bag!

Toots n Tots also carries a couple other really cute Maxwell Designs items, such as changing pads, diaper bags, and also custom design purse/diaper bags!

You can purchase a small Maxwell Designs wet bag from Toots n Tots for $14.95, or you can enter to win one here! Maggie has generously offered one LWML follower a small wet bag of choice! *open to US and Canada*

    The Wonderful World of Wool...

I am in love! Of course, you know that I love my husband, my two boys and God more than anything... oh, and cloth diapers too... but I've recently found a new love and I'd love to share it with you! (did not intend for that to rhyme)!! Wool!! It all started with my 3 year old (Aaron) waking up wet.... EVERY MORNING... no matter what I put on him at night... fluffy triple stuffed hemp, microfiber... you name it, we tried it. Then I finally broke down and bought some disposables specifically created for nighttime use by... and guess what, he still woke up wet! Argh!!! How frustrating for me (a cloth diaper addict and environmentally savvy mama) to have to use these disgusting, chemical-laden disposable diapers on my beloved babies! There is hope! You can conquer night time cloth diapering with wool!!! Not too long ago I bloggy friend of mine, Lindsey over at So Easy Being Green did an event called "Out Like a Lamb." This series was all about using wool covers and fitted diapers! She hosted many great giveaways and showcased a lot of really great items that will help any novice wool user to get started! She created a post called how to prep for your wool and let me tell you, after reading it, I was convinced that using and caring for wool was EASY!! So I took my Aristocrats wool cover and washed it in Eucalan wool wash, then lanolized it according to Lindsey's directions... let the cover dry flat and have been using it EVERY NIGHT since, with NO LEAKS! I do have to admit, the first time I used the wool cover, I had only washed it in the Eucalan, and let it dry.... did not lanolize it (thinking the lanolin contained in Eucalan would do the trick) and my son woke up wet. So I decided to lanolize the cover and let me tell you, my son has not been wet in the mornings! Oh, did I also mention too that my kids are waking up later?? I swear its because he feels dry and can sleep peacefully. Before, when he was using disposables, and waking up wet, he was up by 6:30 and saying "mama I'm all wet, mama, I peed my diaper" but now he wakes up and simply lies in bed talking or singing until I go in and get him up! What a difference an extra hour of sleep makes (for him and I)!! I have not tried the wool cover on my youngest son (Joshua, 15 months)... I am actually needing to get a hold of another fitted diaper to try on him... but it is in the works! So, stay tuned for a review of the Aristocrats wool cover.... and a giveaway!!! But first, I've got another review in the works! Fluffy fun days ahead!!! Stay tuned! Have you used wool, do you love it? Have you thought about using wool, but are scared? Please share your stories with me by commenting on this post! ~Mama of the Littles~

Before I get into the review of this diaper, I would like to tell you a bit more about Kayla (owner of SweetPeas Cloth, and sponsor of this review and giveaway)! Kayla started Sweet Peas Cloth in January, 2010 after she found it near impossible to find all of her cloth diapering needs in one place. She was having to shop at 5 different places just to get what she needed, so she opened up her on-line only shop called SweetPeas Cloth! Shortly after e-mailing Kayla back and forth about this review, I found out she is currently expecting, and that her unborn baby Aiden had been diagnosed with some pretty serious medical conditions. Aiden has been diagnosed with a chromosonal disorder called 22q deletion, also known as DiGeorge's Syndrome! Aiden also has spina bifida, heart defects and only one kidney! Kayla is only 24 weeks pregnant, and is scheduled to deliver Aiden on June 28th via c-section! Aiden is not expected to live long after he is born! My heart goes out to this family. I cannot imagine being in Kayla's shoes right now. I would like to ask each one of you reading this blog right now to pray for Kayla and Aiden! I know that our God is a powerful God and He can perform miracles. I would love to see this baby born compelty healthy and whole. I know it can be done! If, He chooses to do so! If you would like to follow Kayla and Aiden's journey through life, you can check out the blog Kayla has started called "Journey With Aiden." Kayla is planning on using cloth diapers on Aiden in the NICU! I think this is awesome! Did you know that Happy Heinys also make a Micro Mini diaper? These diapers were created to fit premature babies! What an awesome concept! **Thank you Happy Heinys** Kayla so kindly sent me this adorable Happy Heinys one size cloth diaper in "Peace Bears!" This is what I received:

This is what the diaper looks like all laid out: I just had to add this picture too, because it shows really well the quality design of the diaper, not to mention the stinkin' cute print! Ok, so now we all know how cute this diaper is, but what else makes this a great diaper?

Well, let me count the ways!

    1. Its made in the USA

    2. It is affordable (retails for $16.95-$17.95 and fits baby from 8-35 lbs)!!

    3. They come in really cute colors and prints to include diapers that glow-in-dark

    4. They also come in snaps!!!

I also just found out that Happy Heinys also make Heiny Huggers (which is a sherpa fitted diaper)! I am dying to try that one... and they also make wool covers! Wow! All made in the USA!! *did I already mention that*?

So I tried this diaper on my 3 year old son... he's 33+ lbs and this is how the diaper fit:

Many of you know that my favorite diapers are ones with snaps, but I must say that the Velcro on these diapers are very durable and even after several washes, they are not all frayed and worn looking! That is another plus! Oh, and I did try this diaper on my 14 month old (19 lb) son as well, and it fit him great also!

Here is the diaper on the smallest setting:
