Let's go swimming!! Applecheeks Washable Swim diaper review and #GIVEAWAY {US and Canada}

We recently moved to Tennessee! Yesterday the weather was about 75 degrees outside! Really nice! I was sure that today was going to be a really nice, warm balmy kinda day and I envisioned myself setting up the kiddy pool out back for my boys to play in! Boy was I wrong! Last night just before dinner time the sky turned black and the rain came down and thunder and lightning began!
This morning, the ground is wet, the wind is blowing and it's pretty darn cold outside!
Bummer! I know summer is on it's way and I just need to be patient. Why am I so anxious for summer you ask? Well, I have a brand spankin' new Applecheeks washable swim diaper in Mojito, size 2 to try out!
This is what I received:
 Back of the diaper:

I decided I was not going to wait on summer to show up, and I put this beautiful washable swim diaper to the test.... in the bath tub! I did, it fits my 2 yo perfectly! It is so easy to get a good fit with the two sizes available in these reusable swim diapers! The size 1 will fit a baby weighing approximately 7-20 lbs and the size 2 will fit a baby weighing approximately 18-40 lbs!

Here is a  bit more information on these awesome swim diapers (taken from the AppleCheeks website):
"Our diaper is the softest diaper on the market, and as we know you LOVE the styling of our Envelope Cover, we've translated the design to a product that really works!

Two layers of 100% polyester Canadian-milled mesh allows water to comfortably move through the diaper while keeping any solids, should they occur at an inopportune time, out of the pool. Our diaper is completely designed and manufactured right here in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, just like the rest of our AppleCheeks™ line.

And our signature two-size system with a snap at the waist and an separately adjustable snap at the thigh means your little one is guaranteed a comfortable, long-last fit. Size 1 fits approximately 7lbs - 20lbs and size 2 fits approximately 18lbs to 40lbs."

My son did not poop in this diaper (this time), but I did use an AppleCheeks on him last year and he pooped in it. We were not at the public pool, but the boys were playing out back in our little plastic pool. The poop was contained and the diaper did it's job!
Here are a few more pictures of this diaper:
The inside of the diaper:
Unfortunately for me (and you) my camera batteries were dead the night I put this diaper on my 2 yo in the bath, and for the last 3 days my boys have had a stomach virus and there is no way I'm risking getting diarrhea on this beauty!
So, I don't have any pictures to add to my review of the diaper on my son (sorry)! I really want to post this review for you guys now because the weather is turning warmer and summer is just around the corner. I know many of you are looking to purchase a reusable swim diaper and the AC swim diaper is an excellent choice.
They come in 3 beautiful colors:
Mojito
 Samoan Sunset
 Siesta Key

You can purchase this reusable swim diaper directly from the AppleCheeks website for 19.00 CAD!
Or, you can enter to win one here! AppleCheeks has generously offered one LWML reader the chance to win an AppleCheeks reusable swim diaper in winner's choice of size and color!

"Birthday Blessings Bash" Applecheeks cloth diaper and new stay dry microterry insert review and #GIVEAWAY {Teeny Turtle/US and Canada}

I'm a big fan of Applecheeks diapers, you can read my previous review here. That review was done with an Applecheeks diaper that had a rayon from bamboo insert. Now Applecheeks has come out with a new insert. It's a one-size-stay-dry microterry insert. When I heard about this new insert, I really wanted to try it out. Beth, over at Teeny Turtle graciously sent me a little bundle in "Delicious" size 2 for review!
This is what I received:
I just had to include this picture because it came so beautifully packaged! It was like a present sent just for me :)

Here is a little bit of information about the new stay-dry-microterry insert (taken from the Applecheeks website):

These new inserts are an innovative approach to our hybrid diapering system. As per this illustration, and the tutorial video above, the insert has a white side (stay-dry microFLEECE side) and a white with red stitching and label side (absorbent microTERRY side). When placed ON the cover for the cover+insert method, the white side faces UP. When placed IN the cover for the pocket mention, the red stitching side faces UP. As well, the label on the microterry side clearly indicates that this side is NOT to go against baby's skin.

Use these inserts alone for daytime use, or in combination with our 2-pli and 3-pli inserts for super nighttime absorbency!

Applecheeks has a great video tutorial here which demonstrates how to use their new microterry insert with your Applecheeks diaper!

I really like the fact that the Applecheeks diapers can be used as a pocket diaper or all in two! Dirty Diaper Laundry did a great You Tube video which shows you how to set up your Applecheeks diapers in both these configurations!
Here is how you would use this diaper as an all in two:

Remember though, if you are using the Applecheeks diaper as an all in two, the white side of the new microterry insert needs to be against baby's skin. The side with the red stitching is not to be placed against the skin of your baby!
The Applecheeks size 2 fits my 2 yo son great.

You can purchase an Applecheeks little bundle with the new stay-dry microterry directly from Teeny Turtle for $23.00! Or you can enter to win one here!!

As a sponsor of the "Birthday Blessings Bash" event, Beth at Teeny Turtle has generously offered one LWML follower an Applecheeks little bundle with new stay-dry-microterry insert in choice of color/print and size! *subject to in-stock availability*

To enter, simply use the rafflecopter form below, you may have to click on "read more" to see the rafflecopter entry form!

Good Luck and have fun!

"Birthday Blessings Bash" Applecheeks cloth diaper review and #GIVEAWAY {US and Canada}

Have any of you tried Applecheeks cloth diapers? If not, you are missing out! These diapers are Canadian-made and are great! I first reviewed Applecheeks diapers in November of last year (when both my boys were still in cloth)! When I heard that Applecheeks had come out with new prints, I had to have one! I contacted Applecheeks and they kindly sent me a size 2 Applecheeks little bundle in Wild Child print!
This is what I received:
It really is a cute print. They also have a print called Delicious that looks like this:
Here are a few more pics of Wild Child for your viewing pleasure:

What I really like about Applecheeks is the large pocket opening near the back:
The large opening allows the insert of the diaper:
To agitate out in the wash. So, you don't have to un-stuff this pocket diaper on wash day!
The insert is made of 70% viscose from bamboo, and 30% organic cotton! It needs to be washed about 5 times on hot and dried in order to gain full absorbency!
The insert measures approximately 16.5 inches long by 12 inches wide! It is a really nice, big insert that gives you lots of different folding options!
Applecheeks has several very helpful video tutorials on You Tube that walk you through the different ways to use these fabulous inserts!
Here are a few I've linked up for you (again, for your viewing pleasure) *wink*
1. How to use Applecheeks diapers
2. How to fit your one sized inserts into your size 2 Applecheeks
3. How to fit a size 2 Applecheeks on a smaller baby
There are several more great videos on Applecheeks You Tube channel!
Here are a few pics of Wild Child on my 2 yo son (27 lbs)

It is such a great fit on him!
Since all I've ever known when cloth diapering is little boy love, I really appreciate the fact that Applecheeks has a blog post here about how to create the 'boy fold' and yet another video tutorial here on how to make and use the 'boy fold' on your little boys! <3
You can purchase a Wild Child Applecheeks diaper directly from the Applecheeks website for 21.00 CAD. Or, you can click here to find a retailer here within the USA!
Or, you can enter to win one here! As a sponsor of the "Birthday Blessings Bash" event, Applecheeks has generously offered one LWML follower an Applecheeks little bundle in choice of size and color/print!

Applecheeks Cloth Diaper Review and *Giveaway*

I am always willing to try different cloth diapers, in fact, when I actually get excited when a new diaper arrives on my doorstep! As my boys get older, I am finding that their diapering needs are changing! My 2 year old is a heavy wetter at night and I am currently in search of a cloth diaper that will keep him dry! He is approximately 30+ lbs and not yet potty trained!
I have been working with Ilana over at Applecheeks and she was kind enough to send me a size 2 little bundle in Mrs. Robinson, and a roll of their new flushable diaper liners (center)! This diaper arrived super fast, and it is so beautiful and cute! See...
I couldn't wait to try it. It came with a brochure that gave detailed care instructions. So after washing and drying the diaper, insert and booster (right), I was ready to go! Now the great thing about Applecheeks diapers (in my opinion) is that they can be used as a pocket diaper, or they can be used as an All-in-two, with the insert simply lying on top of the diaper (no stuffing)!
I tried the Applecheeks first on my 2 year old son as a pocket!

It was a really nice fit! No leaks, no problems! I love, love, love how absorbent the bamboo insert is!

Next I tried this diaper on my 10 month old son. He is a smaller baby, with thin legs and weighs approximately 17 lbs. On him I also used the Applecheeks diaper as a pocket, and also used the booster as he was wearing it for his nap. He usually sleeps about 1 to 1.5 hrs at a time. When he woke up he was wet. Again, after talking with Ilana at Applecheeks and doing some trouble shooting, we decided he was probably too small for the size 2, or I didn't fasten the diaper tight enough and I decided to purchase a size 1 for him to wear. I did try the diaper on him again though, not as a pocket, but as an AIO and had no problems. I also changed the setting, instead of the second to tightest fitting, I used the tightest fitting and it worked like a charm!

I tell you... Ilana over at Applecheeks shared with me a wealth of information! She is great at answering any and all types of questions that relate to Applecheeks, and cloth diapering in general.

Here are a few very useful how to videos that Ilana shared with me.

These videos are chock-full of useful information, so I am passing them along to you :)

"How to use your Applecheeks"

"Frogs and Snails AKA Little boys of the Cloth (the boy fold)!"

"How to configure your inserts for your size 2 envelope covers!"

I just love my Applecheeks. Overall, I would say they are very easy to use, easy to care for and very practical. Oh, did I mention how stinkin' cute your littles are when they wear em'?

Do you want to give Applecheeks a try? I know you do!!
Buy it! You can purchase all your Applecheeks items at the Applecheeks store! Yes, they come from Canada, but the shipping is lightning fast. My diapers arrived at my front door within a matter of days!

Or you can win it here!

Ilana has graciously agreed to give one LWML follower a little bundle in your choice of color and size and a package of flushable diaper liners! (Thank you Ilana)!! xx
