#NBFluffNStuff Onya Cruiser Soft Structured Baby carrier review and #GIVEAWAY {US/Canada**}

Baby wearing!! I LOVE it! Where better to have your baby than right with you, on your back, or front? I have been wearing my boys since my youngest was about 9 months (around the same time I started my relationship journey with cloth diapers!
I had heard awesome things about Onya baby carriers and was so grateful that the kind folks at Onya Baby sent me a Onya cruiser in green/umber and waist extension to review. This is what I received:

The front of the carrier:

The back of the carrier:

Another picture of the inside of the carrier (this is the part of the carrier that goes against your baby's body while being worn):
This is the waist extender attached to the back side of the carrier (remember I was around 35 weeks pregnant when I received this carrier):

This is the 'hood' of the carrier which is awesome because you can use it to stabilize your baby's head when s/he falls asleep (which I guarantee will happen) when you are wearing them! It also works to protect your child from the elements (sun, rain, wind) while they are sleeping!

Handy pocket located on the front of the carrier. Perfect for keys, pacifiers, cell phone, whatever else you may need to bring along:

Another picture of the pocket:

I was really impressed with this carrier. It is very well made, it is a beautiful color, affordable (the Cruiser retails for $149.00 and it is COMFORTABLE!! I wore my 3 year old for over an hour while 35 weeks pregnant and I did not feel any discomfort what so ever. You know how sometimes after you give your kids a piggy back ride or carry them (without a carrier of any kind but just in your arms) and sometimes the next day you wake up sore because you pulled a muscle or had your body in an incorrect position for any amount of time? Didn't happen with the Onya!
What's better yet, my son LOVED it!!
Just see for yourself!

View from the back:

View from the front, you can't even tell I have a child on my back except by his knees sticking out:

Notice the leg placement in the 'view from the back' picture. Notice that he is sitting 'frog-legged' and that his legs are bent at the hip and knee and are not drooping straight down. This is one of the most important aspects of baby wearing, proper sitting position. I will include this graphic (below) probably in every baby wearing post I publish because it is so vital to understand when and why your child should be in the correct seated position when being worn.
Hip dysplasia:

When you are wearing your baby, you want to ensure that their thighs are supported to the joint of the knee to prevent his dysplasia! That's why baby carriers such as the Baby Bjorn and the like (I refer to them as crotch danglers) are NOT a safe carrier for baby!

The Onya Cruiser is perfect in that it ensures that baby is in the correct seated position and that his/her thigh is supported to the knee joint reducing the pressure put on the hip joints!

  1. Hi there,

Just wanted to check if I am the winner, as I received your blog email this morning announcing it as "Bekah K.", and I am Rebekah Kane, but I did not receive a separate email, and I don't normally go by Bekah, but thought I would check just to be sure!
