"Birthday Blessings Bash" Turtle Soup Company {Lil' Woolie Snapper™ Review} $25 GC #GIVEAWAY {US and Canada}

I'm really falling in love with Etsy! I mean, really! I've found some very adorable things on Etsy that I would just love to buy! One of these such things was the Lil' Woolie Snapper™ from Turtle Soup Company! Since we only use fitteds and wool covers at night time now I thought it would be a perfect time to reach out for Turtle Soup's sponsorship! Cortney (the shop owner) graciously sent me a Lil' Woolie Snapper™ in size medium for me to try! This is what I received:

Here is a bit more information about the Lil' Woolie Snapper™. (taken from Turtle Soup Company's Etsy site):
"Turtle Soup's Lil' Woolie Snapper™ is the best choice for covering your cloth diapers. Let's face it, wool is impressive. It has this wondrous ability to hold nearly 40% of its weight in fluid without feeling wet & allows moisture to evaporate. Not only does wool allow air to circulate through its fibers, but its natural antibacterial properties make it a perfect fiber for diapering.

Choose from non-itchy wools such as Merino, Cashmere, Angora & soft Lambswool. They are bound with bright fold over elastic & close with poly resin snaps for a secure comfy fit. Use winter, or summer and up to seven days if not soiled. Wool fibers provide a nice drier barrier for baby day, or night because wool breathes better. Wool by nature and contains natural oils that can be reintroduced when using a lanolin wash. Laundering is a cinch; hand washed, or by machine in a gentle [low agitated] cycle with a wool wash such as Eucalan®. Hang to dry or lay flat. Size small and medium/large."

The Lil' Woolie Snapper™ is great. It is so soft and so cute! We really like it!
This is how the Lil' Woolie Snapper™ fits my 2 yo over a Babykicks organic fitted diaper:

It's great for night time wear and keeps him high and dry!
The Turtle Soup Company (or Turtle Soup Kids as they are known as on Etsy) not only offer the Lil' Woolie Snapper™ but they also offer these adorable items:

"Newborns AND Cloth" Nifty Nappy Soap Nuts review and Nifty Nappy Sheep-in-a-Jar Lanolizing Potion #9 review and #GIVEAWAY

The talk of the town around here (aside from #clothdiapers) is wool!
Just today I posted a review of Sloomb's wool longies and their fabulous snappless-fitted multi diaper!
But how do you care for that wool?
It's unlike any other item in your cloth diapering stash, but an item I guarantee you will reach for time after time!
Wool needs to be lanolized before it becomes waterproofed!
Nifty Nappy has a great video on their website for lanolizing wool, you can find it here!

Vilate (of Nifty Nappy) recently sent me two of her own products for review. I was sent a 4 oz jar of her liquid Nifty soap nuts and a 4 oz jar of her Sheep-in-a-jar lanolizing potion #9 for review!
This is what I received (sorry about the blurry picture)!
Here are the easy-to-follow instructions for using the liquid Nifty soap nuts:
I washed my Aristocrats wool cover with the liquid Nifty soap nuts and they came out really clean and nice!
Then I lanolized them using the Potion #9!
Here are the instructions for using the Potion #9:
Here is what I did. First put 1 tsp. of the potion #9 in a cup, jar or Pyrex measuring cup:
Then you get a large bowl or other container and fill it with warm (not hot) water!
Then you put really hot water into the measuring cup containing the potion #9:

Stir it up and then stir it into your container of warm water:
Then add your woolies! I usually lanolize my wool covers inside out, so that way the lanolin gets to the inside of the cover, but you can do it either way:
When you add your cover to the mixture you want to be sure to gently squeeze it to ensure the lanolin gets into the fibers of the wool!

This potion is really nice and so easy to use!
You can purchase this "Nifty Nappy Sheep in a jar lanolizing potion #9" from Nifty Nappy's facebook page... retails for $15.00 or you can enter to win one here!

"Newborns AND Cloth" Sloomb Sustainablebabyish review and $50 GC #GIVEAWAY {Open world wide}

I am totally in love with Sloomb (aka Sustainablebabyish)!
I have tried their organic fitted diapers and their wool covers (knit covers and longies) on both of my boys! You can read my review of the knit cover here, and my review of the organic fitted diaper and wool longies here!
I was super excited when Erin told me she was going to sponsor this event! I really wanted to see how Sloomb would fit on Ezra and how well it works for newborns!
Erin graciously sent my sister a pair of xs wool longies in 'squash' and a snapless multi fitted diaper for review!
This is what she received:
The order arrived at my sister's house when I had already flown home, so I was not able to try these out on Ezra myself... but that was okay with me because I can tell you first hand how awesome Sloomb products are and that they are VERY well made!
Another thing I can say about Sloomb is that Erin really values her customers and she goes above and beyond to help them get what they need want! Erin stands behind her products 100% and works very hard to keep the Sloomb brand untarnished!
The snapless diaper was a tad bit big on Ezra, but after all, he is a newborn baby. The snapless multi diapers are made to fit babies from 10-35 lbs! My sister told me that she had no problems getting it on him (though it was a bit big, and requires a pin or snappi).
Notice that the longies are a bit long, but the top could be folded down and the longies pulled up to remedy that!
These longies are so soft and cozy! Especially for the winter months!
Here is a bit more information about the snapless-multi fitted diaper (taken from Sloomb's website):

"The first multi-size cloth diaper from sustainablebabyish. heavy organic bamboo|cotton terry body with turned and topstitched leg elastic. includes two 3-layer organic bamboo fleece doublers for adjustable absorbency & one diaper pin. add more doublers for additional layers.

Pin or Snappi® friendly. Snappi® fasteners are now available under Accessories. Snapless-multi fitteds work very well with either option.

the sustainablebabyish snapless-multi is based on the pattern for our best selling bamboo fleece night time fitteds. slightly trimmer body & longer wings allow securing with one pin & fast diaper changes. the same fit you have come to love, now in a multi-size, snapless version, with adjustable absorbency & comfortable T&T leg casings. fold the front down for a shorter rise.

weight range approximately 10-35 lbs

This fitted cloth diaper requires a cover. pair with sustainablebabyish wool for a leak free combination."

The wool longies fit Ezra perfectly! Here is a bit more information about Sloomb longies (taken from Sloomb's website):

"soft, stretchy, durable, & ultra absorbent.

a year-round, day & night essential for cloth diapering.

sustainablebabyish longies are made from öko-tex certified wool yarns and are double-layer knit, making them breathable, soft, and comfortable–perfect for cloth diapered children from newborns to toddlers. sustainablebabyish knit wool longies work well with one-size diapers, prefolds, and all sustainablebabyish fitteds, flats, and snapless-multi diapers.

content: 93% wool | 7% lycra.
care: hand wash, lanolize, lay flat to dry – do not machine wash.
öko-tex certified wool yarns & dye, made in a socially and environmentally responsible knit house in China.

What makes Sloomb wool different?
•Sustainablebabyish knits are the softest machine knit wool in the industry
•All knits are double layer throughout for a natural, breathable, and bulletproof solution for year-round use
•Wool is an economical choice - only 3-4 wool covers are needed to successfully cloth diaper and generally need to be washed once every few weeks
•Longies keep little legs legs protected and are extremely durable for everyday use by active children
•Longies are used as both a diaper cover and pants, no extra cover is needed, making cloth diapering easy and convenient
•Beautiful and rich colors from environmentally friendly dyes and dyeing methods that meet the industry's highest standards, thereby ensuring the correct criteria for color stability, color fastness and the use of non-toxic additives
•Our commitment to using wool that is farmed practicing ecologically sustainable methods

•Our wool is spun and dyed in GOTS, Öko-Tex, and ISO 9001:2000 certified facilities that meet the highest standards of quality, environmental protection and cultural and social commitment
•Plantable hangtags = no waste packaging"

I really really love sloomb! I can tell you from experience that if you have a heavy wetter then using a fitted diaper and wool cover will keep him/her dry at night!
This is the only combination I could use on my 3 yo (when he was still in diapers, just before being potty trained) that would keep him dry at night!
Longies need to be lanolized before use... Sloomb has a great section on their website that goes into great detail explaining how to care for all Sloomb products!
Here are a few more pictures of Sloomb products... just to whet your appetite!
Are you in love yet????

You can purchase the wool longies from Sloomb for $64.95 and the snapless-multi fitteds for $20.95!Those prices may seem a bit high, but I promise you that it is well worth every penny!
