"Newborns AND Cloth" 'Diapering Today: The Basics and More' dvd review and the Waterproof Willowpad review and #GIVEAWAY {The Willow Store}

I really like the Willow Store! It was started by Catherine Bolden. She believes that all things will return to the earth and that all things are reusable. The Willow Store offers many earth-friendly, reusable items such as cloth diapers, wool dryer balls, feminine pads, forever cloths, training pants, reusable bags, pillows, and blankets!
Catherine recently released a dvd called Diapering Today: The Basics and More.
Catherine graciously sent me a copy of the dvd and a leak-proof willowpad for review.
This is what I received:
Here is the bottom of the box that the pad came in:
What do you read? Organic, made in the USA??? This gets my vote :)

The dvd is a must have for anyone expecting a baby! Moms, dads, grandparents and care-givers!
The dvd gives reasons many parents have decided to cloth diaper their babies.
The chapters covered in this dvd are as follows:
1. Why cloth
2. How to use diapers
3. Types of cloth diapers
4. Getting started
5. Washing
6. Tips and tricks
7. Accessories
8. Potty training
9. Cloth is for everyone
10. Cloth on a budget
11. Resources
12. The evolution of diapers
13. Terms
14. Credits

You can watch the official trailer to this dvd here!
You can view the "Why Cloth? Convenience!" portion of the dvd here!
This dvd is a must-have! If you are considering using cloth diapers but have second thoughts because every time you think of cloth images of pins and plastic pants dance around in your head, then you NEED to watch this video!
Cloth diapering is really much simpler than some make it out to be!
I LOVE it! I love cloth so much that I have totally made the switch to using cloth in most areas of my life. I not only cloth diaper, but I use mama cloth as well! Yes, thats right.... reusable feminine pads!
You still reading?
I tried the leak-proof willowpad that was sent to me and I must say I am really impressed. I frequently use charlie banana and fuzzi bunz pads, but I found the willowpad to be super soft and comfortable (my guess is that its because its made with organic fibers)!
The willowpad washes up really well also!
I had no problems with leaks while using the willowpad, in fact, it just may be my new favorite!

You can purchase the willowpad from The Willow Store for just $9.95
You can also purchase a copy of Diapering Today for $17.95!

As a sponsor of the Newborns AND Cloth event, The Willow Store has graciously offered a giveaway for each item I reviewed. One LWML follower will receive a leak-proof Willowpad in choice of color AND a copy of the dvd Diapering Today!

To enter, simply use the rafflecopter form below, you may have to click on "read more" to see the rafflecopter entry form!

Good Luck and have fun!

Disclosure: I received the product(s) mentioned above in exchange for this review, thanks to Catherine of The Willow Store! No monetary compensation was received by me. This is my completely honest opinion above and may differ from yours.

"Newborns AND Cloth" Lil Joey newborn diaper review and #GIVEAWAY {Madison Organics}

Madison Organics is a GREAT company. I've worked with Svetlana in the past just last April when she sent me a Grovia AIO for review! (Read the review HERE)! Madison Organics is choc-full of wonderful items for you, your baby, your eco-friendly home oh and did I mention that Madison Organics carries an awesome selection of natural feminine care? Madison Organics offers free shipping on orders over $50.00 and $5.00 flat rate shipping on all orders under $50.00 (within the US)!
This time around, Svetlana graciously sent me a Lil Joey Newborn/Preemie AIO diaper in "Lil Monster" to try on my little nephew Ezra for this event! This is what I received:
Such a cute little diaper!

Notice this AIO diaper has the leg gussets to keep poopy explosions inside the diaper where they belong!

It also has the snap down in the front to protect the little umbilical cord:
Here is a bit more information on this diaper (taken from Madison Organics' website):
The Lil Joey is an AIO (all in one diaper) with a sewn in soaker, no pocket. This specialty diaper was designed to fill the gap between a newborn size and other brands of one size diapers. The Lil Joey fits babies 4-12 lbs. The Rump•a•rooz® One Size Diaper will fit a newborn starting at 6 lbs, while a lot of other brands of one size diapers will not fit until 10-12 lbs. The Lil Joey has a snap down center for easy umbilical care and comfort. The Lil Joey is a 2 size or grow with me diaper as it has shorter rise setting in the snapped down position and then higher rise settings in the unsnapped position.

This diaper fit Ezra perfectly!
I didn't need to button down the front since his umbilical cord stump had already fallen off!
This diaper is an AIO and therefore takes a bit more time to dry as compared to a pocket diaper!
I love this diaper. The inside of the diaper is really soft and it is so easy to use and clean!
These diapers are a great choice for your preemie or newborn baby!
You can purchase these diapers from Madison Organics for only $29.95 for a pack of two (making them only about $15.00 each)! The Lil Joey's also come in many really cute prints and solid colors!

But wait, of course that's not all!
As a sponsor of the Newborns AND Cloth event, Svetlana has graciously offered one LWML follower a chance to win a Lil Joey newborn/preemie AIO diaper in Monsters (the exact same one as I reviewed)!
To enter, simply use the rafflecopter form below, you may have to click on "read more" to see the rafflecopter entry form!

Good Luck and have fun!

"Newborns AND Cloth" The Little Bee Co. Bitty Bee #CLOTHDIAPER Review and #GIVEAWAY {US and Canada}

I LOVE everything about The Little Bee Co. I love their mission and their diapers, and their new Bee Loved Bag by Tukula: (which are already sold out)!!!
I recently reviewed their Bee Changed Bamboo one size diaper (you can read that review HERE)!
It is a great feeling to know that as I sit here and type up my review of the Bitty Bee Changed diaper, that one diaper will be sent to an orphan in need!! Right now the sales of these diapers are going to help children at The Starfish Foster Home in Xian China. The Starfish Foster Home is a special needs orphan facility "For this child I will make a difference." That is the mission of The Starfish Foster Home in Xian, China. Founded by Amanda de Lange, the facility is home to special needs infants, babies and children praying for a forever family.
I really think that to understand the mission of The Little Bee Co. you need to watch this video!

Oh, and when the winner is drawn for this giveaway, another diaper will be sent to a child in need at the Starfish Foster Home! Doesn't that just make you feel so good inside?
I was thrilled when The Little Bee Co. agreed to send me a Bitty Bee Changed all in one diaper in "African Rain" to try on Ezra! You can read more about the color names and their meanings HERE!
This is what I received:
The super soft inside of the diaper:

The diaper is so beautiful isn't it? It's also very soft and I love that the front snaps down so you can avoid contact with the umbilical cord stump!
Here is some more information about the Bitty Bee diaper taken from The Little Bee Co.'s website:

Designed for the bittiest babies around these diapers are the perfect choice to wrap your sweet newborn in. Suggested fit: preemie to 12lbs

Features Include:
• No cover needed/waterproof PUL outer
• Adjustable snap front design
• Umbilical cord snap down
• Newborn leg gussets
• 100% all natural bamboo fleece inner lining, luxuriously soft and hypo-allergenic
• The Little Bee Co. will donate a diaper to an orphan in need

*Customer Care Tip: Button your diaper inside out when drying on low heat

If you would like to purchase a diaper for donation only type in the comment field of checkout "Donate" and we will send two diapers {your purchased diaper as well as the diaper we would have donated for a regular purchase} to our current Diaper Drop. All funds from donation sales will be used to offset the cost of the drop....
What is a diaper drop you ask? You can read more about diaper drops HERE!

Okay, since this diaper is made of bamboo, it needed to be prepped... so after a few hot washes and letting it air dry it was ready to go onto my beautiful nephew Ezra!

This diaper fit him so well! It even held in his first breast-milk blow out!!! I was very impressed!
You can purchase the Bitty Bee diaper from The Little Bee Co. for only $12.95 (and one will also go to an orphan in need)!
As a sponsor of the Newborns AND Cloth event, The Little Bee Co. has graciously offered one LWML follower a chance to win a Little Bee diaper of choice of style (Bamboo, Microsuede, or Bitty Bee) and color!

"Newborns and Cloth" Bamboobies review and #GIVEAWAY

I was so proud of my sister when she told me she was going to nurse Ezra! She was unable to nurse her firstborn because he was so premature and spent so much time in the NICU! She pumped and pumped but eventually dried up!
I mostly used disposable nursing pads while nursing my first son Aaron but at about the same time I started cloth diapering him at around 6 months I also switched to using reusable nursing pads part-time!
I was so excited to receive some Bamboobies for my sister to try out!
This is what I she received: *wink*
Here is what they look like out of the package:

The heart shaped ones are the regular, and the round ones are for overnight! Why in the world are the nursing pads heart-shaped? Is it to make nursing mama's feel sexy and attractive???

The first thing I noticed when I opened the Bamboobies was how awesomely soft they are! I mean, they were extremely soft! I can remember during the first days of nursing my nipples were so sore and felt like someone had taken some sand paper and scrubbed the poor things! I would have LOVED to have nursing pads as soft as these to soothe my achy boobs!
Here is a bit more information about both the overnight and regular Bamboobies:
*the following information taken from the Bamboobies website*
Overnight Bamboobies are the biggest and softest pads - loved by new mamas everywhere

Overnights' softness prompted one new mother to call Bamboobies "cashmere sweaters for my boobies"!

Organic Bamboo Fleece outer layers for incredible softness and an inner core made of Hemp and Organic Cotton for maximum absorbency.

**Made especially for new mothers: for heavy leaking in the early months of nursing and overnight / early morning leaking**

Regular Bamboobies are lined with organic bamboo velour to soothe tender nursing nipples on the inside and have a waterproof outer layer to protect your clothes. They're heart-shaped to cup your breast better than a circular pad - no creases means no lines. Bamboobies have a hemp and organic cotton inner layer to absorb light leaks.

Every nursing mother deserves a simple luxury like Bamboobies!

Bamboobies have been called the 'maserati of nursing pads' - the ultimate in luxury and softness. Green packaging, fair-wage sewing in Colorado, and sustainable fabrics make Bamboobies the smart + eco choice for new mothers.

These nursing pads are AWESOME! My sister experienced no leaking while using Bamboobies and she too appreciated their softness! You know what else I really LOVE about the Bamboobies website? They sell lingerie for pregnant mama's! Love it! I searched for sexy things to wear while pregnant and really had a hard time finding anything for sale out there... but they do have some really cute things for the mama-to-be!!

You can buy Bamboobies directly from their website! You can get a two-pack of either the overnight or regular Bamboobies for only $16.99! If you shop now and use the code "LITTLES20" You can save 20% off your entire order!

As a sponsor of the Newborns AND Cloth event, Bamboobies has graciously offered one LWML follower a chance to win a store credit in the amount of $16.99! This is enough to buy a 2-pack of either the overnights or the regular nursing pads! You can use that credit towards anything one their website... not limited to nursing pads! They also offer a wide variety of mama essentials, baby essentials and post-partum TLC items! *winner will be responsible for shipping fee (flat rate of $4.95)!

To enter, simply use the rafflecopter form below, you may have to click on "read more" to see the rafflecopter entry form!

Good Luck and have fun!
~Mama of the Littles~

Disclosure: I received the product(s) mentioned above in exchange for this review, thanks to Bamboobies! No monetary compensation was received by me. This is my completely honest opinion above and may differ from yours.

Baby Carrier {Ergo} Sucking Pads review and Etsy #GIVEAWAY!!

I've been browsing Etsy for some time now. I simply love that you can find such intricate and unusual items on Etsy that are home made by stay at home moms (SAHM)! One day awhile back I came across RedCharlotte! The shop caught my eye because she had listed a pair of 'sucking pads' for baby carriers. You see, ever since I started wearing my second baby in my Ergo Carrier, he has been chewing and sucking on the straps! Great for him, to relieve his teething, but not so great for my poor Ergo!! So what the sucking pads do, is protect your baby carrier from the infamous teething baby! They simply wrap around your baby carrier straps and your carrier is protected. Not only do they work to protect your carrier's straps, but they also (upon request) can come with cute taggies attached on each end for baby to play with (as seen below). Charlotte graciously sent me a pair of organic sucking pads for review... this is what I received:

I really love these sucking pads. First of all, they are so stinkin' cute. You can view the current fabric selections for sucking pads on RedCharlottes Etsy page.
Here is a bit more information about the sucking pads:
Red Charlotte Sucking Pads (as described by Charlotte herself)
- My taggie sucking pads are my original design.
- I started making them because I couldn’t find any cute, functional options on the market.
- I’m a work-from-home-mom to a 12 month old girl who LOVES her own pair of sucking pads.
- Each pad includes three layers of fabric; the top layer is designer fabric, with two additional layers of super absorbent, white flannel.
- A wide range of designer fabric selections, including organic options, available in the shop.
- The pads are reversible! (Designer fabric on one side, white flannel on the other.)
- You can buy them with taggies on one side or both sides. My daughter occupies herself for hours playing with the top taggies now that she can reach them.
- They fit all the major baby carriers including the Ergo, the Mei Tai, the BabyHawk, the Beco, the Boba, the Kinderpack, the Bamberoo, the Baby Bjorn, the Pikkolo, and the Patapum.
- I have a YouTube video that also explains how awesome they are.

Here are the sucking pads on my beloved Ergo carrier:

This is my 19 month old in the Ergo. I usually wear him on my back, but this was a quick photo shoot.... just for the purpose of this review! *as you can see, he does not mind being worn on my front :)
RedCharlotte not only makes sucking pads for baby carriers (Ergo, Mei Tai, Beco, Boba, BabyHawk and More - Songbird) but she also makes and sells burp cloths, bibs, taggie blankets, and Baby Carrier Stuff Sacks!

What is a baby carrier stuff sack you ask? I am glad you did. Here is a brief description of the stuff sack: (as described by Charlotte herself)
Red Charlotte Stuff Sacks
- My baby carrier Stuff Sacks are my original design.
- I was inspired to make them when I couldn’t find a neat way to store my Ergo on our sailboat.
- The Stuff Sack fits all the major baby carriers including the Ergo, the Mei Tai, the BabyHawk, the Beco, the Boba, the Kinderpack, the Baby Bjorn, the Pikkolo, and the Patapum.
- It’s also a great way to store slings and wraps that are long and cumbersome.
- You can use the Stuff Sack as a bolster for babies who are learning how to sit or as a pillow when your little one needs a place to lay their head at the park or the beach.
- My Stuff Sacks are made with designer fabric and come with a coordinating carry-handle on the bottom, a high-quality barrel clasp, and heavy duty shock cord to handle frequent, daily use.
- I have a YouTube video that also explains how awesome they are.

To see which stuff sacks are currently available, please click here
Pricing:
Baby Carrier Stuff Sacks: $32.95
Sucking Pads (single-side taggies): $19.95
Sucking Pads (double-side taggies) $22.95

My son is a Rockstar!! $50.00 GC #giveaway to Hearthsong!

So as I am browsing cyber space, I've often come across many reviews of an online store called Hearthsong! Have you heard of them? I decided to investigate (after all, I did used to be a Military Police Officer)! I looked at their site and was amazed at all the awesomeness within! So I contacted the company and was given the go ahead with a review. Now, I had to choose which item I'd like to review.
There were so many things on their site that I really had a hard time deciding.
Here are some of the items I considered:

Then I started thinking about my 3 yo son, and how he has a passion for music. So I clicked on their music page and was amazed at all the instruments offered!
My heart began to beat faster and faster, I felt like the little boy in that movie when he thinks he is going to get a BB gun for Christmas... you know what I'm talking about (you'll shoot your eye out)!! Then I saw it! The perfect instrument for him! The Hohner 30" Beautiful Hardwood Student's guitar with sturdy polyester bag!
This is what I received:
It arrived very quickly, and very well packed!
The polyester case is very nice, and keeps it well protected!
It also came with a guitar pitch pipe for easy tuning!
You see, my son had a guitar. It was one I bought at a thrift store for $5.00. It was out of tune, and had a few broken strings, but he still played it!
This is him with his old guitar!
This is him with his new guitar from Hearthsong:
We've had this guitar for a few weeks now, and he has not put it down. He even asked to sleep with it at night! TRUE LOVE!
I am so thankful to Hearthsong for sending us this guitar!
It is a very well made guitar, perfect for beginner guitarists!
Now I just need to get him enrolled in lessons, or teach him myself :)
Did you see something on the Hearthsong website that your little one would LOVE??
Hearthsong has generously offered one LWML follower a chance to win a $50.00 GC to Hearthsong.com

To enter, simply use the rafflecopter form below, you may have to click on "read more" to see the rafflecopter entry form!
Good Luck and have fun!
