"Newborns AND Cloth" EIO Kids Cup review and $20.00 GC #GIVEAWAY {Earthy Crunchy Mama}
I LOVE Earthy Crunchy Mama (aka Jenn)! She is a great on-line retailer that is very knowledgeable about cloth diapers and natural products. She also goes out of her way to help her customers! This woman is amazing... and so is her shop! Jenn was not always 'Crunchy' though. Her son Cole was born with a rare spinal deformity called Progressive Infantile Scoliosis. Once he was diagnosed she decided to make the change to a healthier lifestyle! She started taking small steps towards becoming an "Earthy Crunchy Mama!" Over the course of a year from the time Cole was 15 months until just before he turned 2.5 years old he was treated with a series of Mehta Casts. They were changed every 2 months and slowly straightened his spine. Today 1 year after his first cast was applied, he is 3.5 years old and considered cured! *PRAISE GOD*!!! To read more about Cole and his journey, you can find his story on Jenn's blog HERE!

A few months ago I purchased a few bags of Rockin Green detergent from Jenn because at the time she was the Rockin Green's featured retailer and the Rockin Green was on sale for a great price. I ordered several bags but they were all back ordered, so she sent me one bag right away (as I told her I was totally out)! When the flat rate envelope arrived at my door, it contained only the receipt of sale, and NO SOAP!! Gasp! What happened to my soap??
I contacted Jenn and she sent me another bag out the next day. I went to my local post office and they told me that a white powdered substance had spilled all over the floor the day before but they did not know what it was! I am sure it was the Rockin Green!
Anyhow. I received the new bag of soap within a day or two and at no charge!
I asked Jenn if she would be willing to do a review on the blog and she agreed. She sent me two EIO kids cups for review! This is what I received:
You can see the small opening from the top of the cup:
Here are a few features of the EIO kids cups:
*the following information taken from the Earthy Crunchy Mama website*
Totally BPA free. Unmatched Versatility. Environmentally Friendly.
The Kids Cup is a spout-free, valve-free cup made without BPA, Phthalates and PVC, and is designed to transition young children properly from bottles to real glass dinnerware. Sippy cup spouts and valves necessitate a bottle-like sucking motion, but EIO’s unique cap promotes correct sipping, quickly and with less mess!
EIO is a one of kind kids cup. Our cap and sleeve fit on virtually any 8oz canning jar. The sleeve is easy to remove and can be left on the cup for washing. How’s that for convenience?
We lost the valve... so you won’t!
EIO’s cap is specifically designed without small parts, like the easy-to-lose valve. According to the ADA’s recommendations for better dental development, children over the age of one should drink from a cup without a valve.* Spouts can also be detrimental, as they tend to become chew toys. EIO encourages a healthy, natural transition to cups.
Clearly, it’s EIO for years to come.
Our modern design appeals to kids of all ages and our versatility allows you to use the jar without the cap as your child learns new skills. The sleeve offers a flashy style and grippy surface no matter how old you are! Never throw them away. That’s great news for our environment!
My boys are still mastering drinking from this cup. The liquid flows freely so there is no need to 'suck' on the cup! My 22 month old still uses a playtex sippy and my 3 yo is learning to use this cup and seldom has spills! However as I was taking pictures for this review, my 22 month old wanted in on some of the action... here are both boys using the cups:
As you can see from my son's shirt, he is still getting the hang of the EIO cup! Nothing a soak in Rockin Green can't fix... Oh, and they are drinking some home-made juice....
Put in juicer:
Apples, oranges, cucumber, sliver of ginger, spinach, carrots and celery too! Yummm!!
These cups are great. I think they are perfect for the going from a sippy cup to a regular drinking cup stage! They are super cute and just the perfect size for little hands. I love that they do not contain BPA's, Phthalates or PVC's! And they are so easy to clean!
You can purchase the EIO kids cup directly from Earthy Crunchy Mama for only $14.95!
Jenn is always posting new sale items and specials on her site! Right now you will receive a free one size diaper with any purchase of $50.00 or more. Through today (Friday) you can take 20% off Rockin Green soap and 15% off of Eco Sprout! She also offers a military discount, and free shipping when you spend $75.00 or more! Did I also mention that Earthy Crunchy Mama offers a very affordable newborn cloth diaper rental program? If you are expecting and are not sure if cloth diapers are for you, or are not sure which is your favorite brand or type, this may be the solution.
As a sponsor of the Newborns AND Cloth event, Jenn has graciously offered one LWML follower a chance to win a $20.00 GC to be used towards the purchase of anything in her shop!
