Did you know that there is a database put out by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) that measures the amount of toxic chemicals found in personal/skin care products? You can learn more about the EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database here!
I was so excited when the kind folks over at Dolphin Organics agreed to send me a tube of their DO Naturals sunscreen for review!
This is what I received:
Here is a picture of the ingredients listing on the back of the tube:
Here is a little more info for you about "DO Naturals" sunscreen (taken from Dolphin Organics' website):"Finally, our new mineral sunscreen is here!! Our new mineral sunscreen offers broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) protection without harsh chemicals or nano particles. With active ingredients Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, we couldn't make it at least 70% organic, but we sure could make it 100% natural! Protect your family from sun damage with our all natural mineral sunscreen. Like our original Dolphin Organics™ line, our sunscreen is based in certified organic aloe, not water so a little goes a long way!"
I really like this sunscreen. It works very well and is not greasy or messy to put on. It does take some rubbing to get it onto your skin, but I think that's a good thing, because then you know that you are applying enough! After all, the two most common mistakes made when using sunscreen are not applying enough and not applying more after contact with water!
I love that DO Naturals rates a 2 on the EWG's Skin Deep Rating!
We took the boys to the water park last weekend, and I must say that this stuff is awesome! It kept them both from getting burned! Of course I reapplied it after they were playing in the water for awhile! I use it on myself too! Since we bought a house here, I find myself outside planting flowers in our somewhat naked yard (it's coming along though)!
Dolphin Organics has a wide selection of baby care items like shampoo and body wash, bubble bath, lotion and conditioner! Here is what Dolphin Organics has to say about their product line: (following information taken from Dolphin Organics' website):
"Dolphin Organics™ has created two lines of 100% plant-derived personal care products that are certified to NSF/ANSI 305 by QAI Inc. Our certified natural shampoo & body wash, conditioner, lotion and bubble bath, are all naturally tear free. All Dolphin Organics™ products rate 0 - 1 on EWG's Skin Deep® Cosmetics Database and are certified cruelty-free and vegan by PETA.
The DO Naturals™ line is also formulated with 100% plant-derived ingredients, and is as organic as possible. DO Naturals™ currently includes a mineral sunscreen offering broad-spectrum protection. Both lines are dermatology-tested hypoallergenic. All products are produced in the USA."
You can purchase the DO Naturals sunscreen directly from Dolphin Organics for $19.99.
