What will I need to purchase if I use this system full-time?
4-8 GroVia Shells and about 24 GroVia Soaker Pads or other absorbent cloth diaper or insert.
Estimated cost* of this system from birth to potty training:
$318* for 6 shells and 24 pads. *(Consider that the cost of disposables is $1000-$2500 more, and that most cloth diaper systems can be re-used on a second child!)
What will I need to purchase if I use this system full-time?
18-24 GroVia AIOs if you start cloth diapering at 10lbs. The GroVia Hybrid system (Shell+Soaker Pad) is more like a one-size diaper starting at 8lbs. We can special order GroVia Newborn AIOs and can quote you a great price for 12 or more. Email babybellebottoms@yahoo.com or call us.
Estimated cost* of this system from birth to potty training:
$504* for 24. You will probably need to purchase newborn size cloth or disposable diapers to use for the first month or 2, which will cost $200 more or less. *(Consider that the cost of disposables is $1000-$2500 more, and that most cloth diaper systems can be re-used on a second child!)
GroVia Washing Instructions:
Diaper Preparation
(This is an important step…don’t skip it!!)
Wash warm with detergent and tumble dry, repeating this process 5–6 times before use (they will continue to gain absorbency with more washing).
Washing
•Remove as much solid matter as possible.
•Place soiled diaper in a dry diaper pail – no soaking necessary.
•Wash every 2 days on warm with detergent.
•Tumble dry.
•Do NOT use bleach, enzyme cleaners or fabric softeners.
This is a one size diaper and it is intended to fit a baby from 10-35 lbs (so it won't fit a teeny tiny newborn, unless you have a 10 pounder)!
This diaper has one soaker pad that is sewn in to the backside of the diaper. It also comes with an additional, removable soaker pad so you can customize the absorbency of the diaper:
I really like this feature. Because if you are using this diaper on a tiny 10 lb baby, chances are you won't need the additional soaker, but when that baby gets a bit older and becomes more of a heavy wetter, you can add the additional soaker to customize it perfectly. You can also fold the soaker to the front (for a boy) where extra protection is needed!
Here is the smallest size setting on this diaper:
And absolutely largest setting:
This diaper fits my 2 yo/27 lb son perfectly!
Overall this is a great diaper.
I love that its a one size, and that you can customize the absorbency (kinda like a pocket diaper). Since this diaper is an all in one, it takes a bit longer to dry.
You can purchase this diaper from Baby Belle Bottoms for $22.95!
