Blog Bash 2011 "All About Baby *and Mama too*! Sponsor Spotlight: Eucalan (wool) Delicate Wash!

Soon after I discovered the wonderful world of wool, I also discovered Eucalan. I knew that wool needed to be washed/treated differently than other fabrics and so I searched the Internet and came across Eucalan!
Eucalan sent me their gift pack (and a few extras) for review!!
This is what I received:

The gift pack comes with 4-3.3 ounce bottles of Eucalan no rinse delicate wash. The scents are Eucalyptus, Lavender, Grapefruit, and natural (unscented).
I used the unscented wool wash first.. used it to wash my new Sustainablebabyish/Sloomb wool cover! I LOVE this wool wash!
It is so easy to use, and really does wonders on wool products!
The Eucalan website has great info on how to use their products!!
They also have a page dedicated to step-by-step instructions on how to wash specific items such as baby (cloth diapers) to washing your wedding dress!! Awesome resource!
Here are the steps to washing wool diaper covers...
(the following information taken from the Eucalan website)
Wool Diaper Covers:Use Eucalan between lanolizing to help prolong the lanolizing and wash soiled covers.
• Run tepid water and add Eucalan to running water.
• Use directions on the bottle for soaking times and dosage.
• Soak longer or use high dosage of Eucalan for heavily soiled items.
• Squeeze soap and water through with hands occasionally while item is soaking.
• Spin (in machine) or squeeze excess water out (roll in a towel to remove further moisture) and air dry flat away from direct heat or sunlight

There is a really great You Tube video on how to use the no rinse delicate wash which can be viewed here!
Eucalan can be used on just about anything! It is really awesome stuff!
I love to use if for my wool covers, but have not *yet* tried it on anything else!!
Eucalan also sent me a sample of their "peel and pat" lint removers... and let me say that with a cat and a dog, I am always finding myself trying to brush the hair off my pants before heading out! These sheets work awesome! They are small enough to keep in the car, or in your purse/wet bag and they work very well... at removing pet hair that is, I'm not too sure about spit-up LOL!
I also received a sample of their wipes a.k.a stain treating wipes Eucalan saturated towelettes, individually packaged for your On The Go emergencies. Simply blot or rub the wipe on the affected spot as soon as possible for stain treating and garment freshening.
*maybe this will work good on the occasional spit-up*
You can find a retailer by visiting the 'store locator' on their website!

  1. Thanks for a great review... Just so your readers know, Eucalan is also great for your other fine washables such as lingerie and other woolens.
